Throughout the country thousands of volunteer pilots donate their time or personal aircraft to help those in need. More than 90 organizations depend on volunteer pilots to make flights under programs known as Public Benefit Flying.
Some of the groups you may recognize include Angel Flight and Lifeline Pilots (transport of patients for medical care), PilotsNPaws (animal rescue), SouthWings and LightHawk (conservation flights), and the EAA Young Eagles and Wright Flight (youth education) … to name just a few.
Our goal is to bring awareness to these organizations and the volunteer pilots that give their time and resources helping others; to promote community and provide a reference site for those interested in getting involved with some very worthwhile causes.
